GB3TD now CTCSS access only

Hi all

Just to let you know that TD is now CTCSS only – (no 1750hz tone access and no carrier only).  Apart from that all is as usual.

We have taken this step to try and overcome the 1 second pulsing and other QRM from keeping the repeater open for long periods.

From the tests Andy, G0BEQ and myself have carried out this morning there doesn’t seem to too many issues.

We still have the squelch operating – we did try open squelch but there was a bit of a squelch tail on it.

Any reports to me please.

Data interference on GB3TD

If you're a GB3TD user you may have noticed some data interference on the output of the repeater. Some investigation is being made and some beam headings have been taken.

However there also seems to be a wider issue with GB3UB and GB3VS also experiencing problems of the same nature.

If you know anything more, please let us know!

Happy New GB3TD

Andy G6REG and Rob G4XUT were on the GB3TD site on 31st December changing over the base station units for GB3TD after there had been problems with an intermittent transmit failure.

Since then, things have been working well - although Rob mentions that they might need to tweak the  audio level a bit.

Thanks Rob and Andy for taking care of the transmit failure.
